UPDATES Archives
OCTOBER 2000
October 28, 2000
-
The counters on my site stopped working correctly.
There is no good reason for this at all. I just
don't understand what happened. Soon, I will be able
to use my really fast computer on a T1 connection.
I will then be able to work on this site more.
- SITE UPDATES:
-
Master Creating
is once again planning a major update.
-
Future Software is having weird problems
with crackers and such.
Over 150MB of files gone, and the message board is acting up again.
Hopefully it will find a better and more secure host.
-
COSMOS' QBasic Site has been
up for a few days.
It has a crisp, bold new look. Hopefully it can become a great site too!
- I feel really out of it. Well, partly because I am currently
sick, but also because I have been so busy with other
things that I have not been around the QB scene much.
Plus, my site has been down, so it was not too fun for people
trying to get to my site either. Hopefully,
things will change soon.

- I did a review of Road Blocks.
While it is not a very Halloween-ish game, it is good. I do intend on
doing a review of Alien Terror soon.
- I have not been able to get much info about the QBasic scene that much
recently. I have been busy and I still haven't checked my email in a few days.
- When I last checked, Master Creating was still working on
SOP v1.5, which should fix the bugs that people have been
complaining about.
- GBGames has become a V Planet affiliate!
You can read about it there. I found it an honor,
and I am excited about what it could mean for the site.
- This site also had its 700th hit recently.
What I found amazing was that it reached that hit
without an update for a long time.
- I am seriously considering updating the format
of these pages. They are kind of hard to navigate through.
I need frames. Or at least some kind of menu.

- Alert!!!!
The home of PebbleDash, Lutasarts,
has shut down. Visitors to the site are now greeted with
a goodbye message much like the kind that was at
Enhanced Productions' site.
- Master-Creating has updated their site.
There are new sections there as well as updated top 10 sections.
- I hope to update the format of my site's individual pages.
Some people have been telling me that my site needs
a little more navigation. Well, I will try.

I finally did a review on
Cookie Delivery,
a game that involves smashing ghosts, which I found quite
appropriate for this month.
-
Site Updates:
-
Lutasarts:
Has just put in a Beginner's to QBasic section in which he lists the commands
and also allows people to ask questions. He has added a few commands to the list already.
-
ProggerSoft:
Has a new message board that is becoming quite active.
-
Master-Creating:
Two things. There is a screen shot of IMERION, which has gotten mixed reviews
and also the walkthrough for Shadow of Power is almost finished.
There are also plans to create an updated version of SOP
to fix those compatibility issues that people have.
-
Angel Rift Studios:
New project added in time for Halloween: BOB.
It is supposed to be an action/platform game where you
go through 3 multi-level environments to get your
hamster back from the dead. Hopefully it is finished
in time for the holidays...
-
QBasic Gamer:
The new magazine by Terry Cavanagh,
it was designed to at least substitute for QBCM, which still hasn't
had its 5th issue. So far there is little content, but hopefully
that will change with user input.

(bring in the exciting intro music)
It's the FIRST DAY OF OCTOBER!!!!!
The month of HALLOWEEN!!!!
Perhaps that fact will make the reviews I make this month
almost fitting. You'll just have to wait and see.
-
Alias has made a new update to Attack of the Blobeteers. It is now
at version SQR(-2)BETA 6...
Sorry, I just copied it from Neozone's site.
-
Site updates:
- Hyper Realistic Games:
Has uploaded over 100 different files. Currently there is no
way to decipher between which are completed RPGs and which are not,
but hopefully that might be a feature soon.
- Qbasic News:
Two parts.
One, Wildcards has made a new article about the need for sound in QBasic.
You can see it HERE.
Two, QB Inquirer/Comics have been setup at NeoBasic's files section.
- Master Creating:
The major update was basically asthetic.
Most importantly, some icons were placed to show what the newest items were.
Also, a section was added for Bulma productions, makers of adult-oriented
games in QBasic, such as Suds Skin.
