| A girl gets ready for a tournament, but first goes to see a fortune teller. She leaves without paying, and the fortune teller then decides to invade her dreams, starting the adventure! | |
| While I would have liked it if I could skip past certain intros and such, they aren't too bad. The story telling part of the game is done quite well, although the language does seem choppy and "just-thought-up." I do like how it does seem to poke fun at itself for it though. The actual gameplay is done well. You don't just fly around and shoot enemies. Well, you do, but there is more to it. For one, the enemies get harder to dodge, so you must move quite a bit. Then there is the problem that you can't look backwards. No problem! Just use the different modes of your weapon! There is a power meter that shows you how much energy you have earned from killing the enemies. You can use that power by either using the second weapon or by powering up with the space bar. If you get the meter powered all the way up, you can use the most amazing and graphical weapon in the game: the beautiful love love heart snake. It basically makes a snake of hearts fly around the screen, which can really be devestating to your opponents, like the end bosses. There are only three levels in this wave, but they seemed to be designed really well. It gets predictable after playing a few times, and there is no score so after beating it you might not want to play it. Also, it would have been nice if the game didn't just exit when you get a game over. |

| While the animation and movement is kind of slow, it more than makes up for it in originality and sheer numbers of sprites on the screen. With so many bullets, enemies and whatever else can be thrown in, you would expect there to be a lot of flicker. This is not the case at all here. Everything moves jerkily but it is not easy to notice as you play the game. The different enemies also add to the greatness that are this game's graphics. | |
| For the most part, this game seems to do well in this department. The only problems I had are trying to attack while powering up and moving at a diagonal. This is something I wanted to do against the end boss of level 3, but it didn't quite work out. Either I was moving vertically or horizontally. So long as you don't have too many keys pressed, you can do it, but sometimes it shouldn't be so restrictive. | |
| While the music was derived from famous Square games such as Chrono Trigger, it still added a nice touch to the game. The music engines in QBasic games never seem to be able to play the music the way it was meant to be though. The sound effects were also good when they existed. There was almost no indication that I was hurting the bosses in terms of sound, and with everything flying around the screen, a sound would have helped a lot. | |
| With six lives, you would think that this game would have been easy. When you first start playing, you realize that you need those lives. After a while, you feel lucky you have them. By the time you get good, you feel you could do well with a lesser number. Still, you have to do a lot to be good at this game. With only three levels, it doesn't offer too much, but it tries within each level. | |
| I liked it. The gameplay was varied enough to keep my interest, and the story was humorous to make it worth playing. The music helped, even if it brought back memories of the SNES. I would ask for more levels, and maybe more detail in the story. | |
| A shooter with some interesting quirks and a strange story. The game is staightfoward, but it is not boring. I recommend this to anyone who likes shooters. | |
